Councillor Norm Wyndham
Norm Wyndham has been a passionate advocate for the residents of McDowall since being elected in 2004 and again with an increased majority at the 2008 election.
As a member of Campbell Newman's "Can Do" team, Norm is widely known for his enthusiastic commitment to getting things done and planning for the future.
During his first term in Council, Norm has acted as the Lord Mayor's Spokesman for Council's Community Services Committee and was a member of the Environment and Sustainability Committee.
Norm is also the Chairperson for Clean Up Australia Day.
As a parent and high school teacher, Norm is very interested in issues that affect our youth.
Norm also has a great interest in environmental issues. He enjoys camping, bushwalking, fishing and cycling. His other passion is yachting, having competed in many Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Races.
Before entering Council, Norm worked as a Manual Arts Teacher. He had been an educator for 26 years.
Following the election, Norm was appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Environment, Parks and Sustainability Committee. He was also appointed to sit on the Infrastructure Committee.
